One common condition that many people suffer from is hyperhidrosis. This is a condition in which a person sweats an excessive amount or more frequently than usual. Along with more frequent sweat, patients will often soak through bedsheets and clothing, resulting in much social anxiety associated with their condition. Heavy sweating is often the result of several underlying health conditions, such as thyroid disorder or diabetes, so it’s important to know the symptoms of hyperhidrosis so you can talk to your doctor.

Natural treatments for heavy sweating include:

1. Natural antiperspirants
In order to treat hyperhidrosis, one of the things that you can do is use topical natural antiperspirants. These contain natural ingredients to prevent sweating while maintaining breathability of the under arms. One DIY treatment is to combine baking soda with coconut oil, fashion into a paste to apply under the arms. These substances will allow you to keep your skin dry and absorb sweat more easily. You can also apply this mixture directly to sweat prone areas such as the neck and torso.

2. Shaving
Whenever you are looking to prevent heavy sweating, it is also a good idea to shave your armpits regularly. When shaving your armpits, you will eliminate under arm hair which is usually responsible for sweating in this area of the body. With regular shaving and upkeep, you will be able to give your skin more air circulation, which will reduce the amount of sweat.

3. Avoid sweat inducing foods
As well as using substances to help prevent heavy sweating, you may want to make changes to your daily diet to reduce sweating. These include any foods that contain caffeine, sugar and salt, which will lead to dehydration and trigger sweating. As a result, you will want to make sure that you eat plenty of water-containing fruits as well as vegetables, whole grains and lean meats.

4. Remain hydrated
In order to avoid sweating too much, it is very important to stay hydrated. You will want to drink plenty of water each day so that you always maintain an adequate amount of fluids. By drinking lots of water, you will be able to remain hydrated and allow your body to release less fluids whenever you are active.

5. Breathable clothing
Preventing excess sweating will also require you to wear clothing that is more breathable. You will want to wear clothes that absorb sweat very efficiently and/or provide plenty of air circulation. With this type of clothing, you will have more air making contact with your body and keeping you cool. This will also result in keeping you dry as well.

6. Avoid caffeine
Patients with hyperhidrosis are often recommended to avoid caffeine. This particular stimulant absorbs water and triggers sweating. Limiting your caffeine intake will allow you to retain more water in your body and prevent you from releasing too much during the day.
